Meet Dr. Pritchett
James W. Pritchett, MD is a native of Seattle and a graduate of the University of Washington and its Medical School. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington and has published more than 130 original scientific research papers. Dr. Pritchett serves as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Swedish Medical Center.
Dr. Pritchett has pioneered techniques in bone conserving joint replacement surgery and has extensive experience in their application including hundreds of successful joint resurfacing procedures. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research and the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons (President, 2004-2005).
In 2004 Dr. Pritchett was elected by his peers as “An Outstanding Physician in the Puget Sound Area” and also received the Physician Recognition Award. Dr. Pritchett has been certified and twice re-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He holds fellowships from the American College of Surgeon (lifetime member), American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, North Pacific Orthopedic Society and is a member of several other medical associations.
